During the Sand & Soul Festival, we honored two individuals with the 2019 Harvey’s Hero Award. Attorney Benjamin Crump for his social and political activism and fight for civil rights in the community … and Sheila Johnson-Smith for her providing a safe place for the orphaned boys and girls of Freeport, Bahamas at the Grand Bahama Children’s Home for over 40 years. We also pledged a $75,000 donation to help rebuild the children’s home after the destruction caused by Hurrican Dorian.

We invited over 100 non-profit leaders from around the world to Cancún for a celebration in their honor. Not only was it a celebration, but also an opportunity to network, develop partnerships, and learn from each other.

The Next Step Education Foundation in partnership with the Steve & Marjorie Harvey.Foundation hosted the 6th Annual College, Career & Services Fair! We were excited to expose students and parents to many colleges and local service providers. Students were able to apply for colleges and get accepted on the spot! Students also received over $1,000,000 in scholarships offers!
